In general:
Quinta da Portela is located in a sunny area from Portugal, and in the natural park that we have in the surrounding we find the most
beautiful place on earth .
In the Serra da Estrela area we landed in a place named Midões,
and every day we enjoy the nature,
the people, and what they can give to us.
It looks like the time is standing still when you watch the people
working in their quintas and with a little bit of luck you will see
sheep all around the quinta.
Almost every weekend you can watch and visit local ways of live or learn about local folklore with a real firework show at the end of the day.
In our village and depending the time of the year you can learn how to get the grapes from the plants and how to make the wine.
You can also learn how to clean the olive trees to get the olives and transform them in oil.
You can just watch if you don´t want to work, or your children may have a ride with me on the tractor, just for fun.
Bicycle riding, mountain climbing, walking or even in the
winter season you may ski in the Serra da Estrela Tower .
Horse riding, trips with horses, swimming in the Mondego River Everything it´s possible.
In our old village , ther is a place with sulphuric water that comes naturally from the stones .
From far away a lot of people come to get this water.
In many small restaurants for a little money you can enjoy a real Portuguese meal in a real Portuguese style,
with a delicious glass wine or Port .
